For owners onboarded onto our new Florida platform, your Connect subscriptions will continue to be managed as they are today, through the Getaround platform.
Of course! When it's not rented, you can use your car normally.
You only have to lock and unlock your car with your smartphone before and after each rental:
This is required to activate and deactivate the car's immobilizer, formally known as the Enhanced Security system.
Your car will be locked by the driver after each rental, and unlocked by the following driver via the app.
When your car is locked with the Getaround Connect technology, the ignition immobilizer activates automatically. It means if someone opens your car without using the Getaround Connect technology, the ignition immobilizer stays on. In this case, it wouldn’t be possible to start the car. Owners must remember to lock/unlock their car via the Getaround app when using the car for personal use.
The Getaround Connect box also allows you to geolocate your vehicle at any time, except when the car is rented.
Hosts are responsible for two fees: the Connect™ Setup Fee and the monthly Connect™ subscription fee. The setup fee helps to cover the time and expense of installing the device in your car. The monthly subscription fee helps to cover the data charges for network connectivity in the car.
Connect™ Setup Fee: A one-time setup fee of $99-$225, depending on your market, to cover the installation of the Getaround Connect™ at onboarding.
Connect™ Subscription: Our subscription is a tiered pricing model based on Host fleet size:
1 car: $20 / month / car
2-9 cars: $18 / month / car
10-49 cars: $15 / month / car
50-99 cars: $12 / month / car
100+ cars: $10 / month / car
90-day Free Trial: New Hosts are enrolled in our tiered pricing system and will have a 100% Connect subscription discount applied across their entire fleet for their first three months on the platform. No fees are charged until the completion of the trial period.
