Drive with Uber Policies

Mileage Policy

All Rideshare rentals to “Drive With Uber” have an exemption from our mileage policy, granting these particular reservations unlimited mileage.

Fuel Policy

What is the fuel policy for Uber Partners?

Fuel costs are not included in the rental price. You must therefore return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel as it had at the start of the rental. If you bring the car back with less fuel than recorded during the check-in, you will be charged for the difference. If you did bring back the car with more fuel than at check-in, you will be refunded for the difference.

What happens if the car doesn’t have a full tank of fuel at the beginning of the trip?

As part of the walk-around inspection in the Getaround app, Drivers will be asked to report the starting fuel level and take a photo of the car's fuel gauge. After submitting an inspection, our system will automatically reimburse them for the missing fuel in the form of a refund. If a refund amount exceeds trip costs, they will be provided with an additional promo code which can be applied to any future trip.

What happens if I don’t return the car with a full tank of fuel?

Uber Driver Partners are responsible for returning the car with a full tank of fuel at the end of their trip. If a car is returned with less than a full tank of fuel, they will be charged for the cost of gas at a per-market rate, which can vary, depending on current market fuel rates.

Cleaning Policy and Messes Made by Rideshare Passengers

We expect that Rideshare Drivers treat Getaround cars with care and respect. If an incident involving a driver results in damage or mess to a Getaround car and you believe the rider should be charged for damage or mess, reach out to Uber to report the issue.

You can do this by opening your Uber driver partner app and selecting Rider Feedback → Fare Adjustment: Request a Cleaning Fee.

Drivers are responsible for cleaning and returning the Getaround vehicle in the same condition or better than they received it. If you return the car unclean, Getaround will bill Drivers a mess fee in line with our Cleanliness Rules.

Required Accessories for Drive with Uber

Drivers will need to have an Uber Decal displayed on the front windshield of the selected Drive with Uber vehicle, which can ordered directly from Uber. Owners are not responsible for providing an Uber decal, but it can be a kind courtesy for your Drivers.

Certain airports require additional documentation in order to pick up and drop off Uber riders. For more information please visit Uber’s website. Uber drivers are responsible for following local rules and regulations.

We suggest drivers bring additional items with them to ensure a smooth reservation and Drive with Uber experience:

  • Phone holder
  • Phone charger
  • Uber decal
  • Airport placard (If necessary, depending on location)

Booking Limitations for Drivers

Drivers are able to book a Getaround car to drive with Uber for as little as 1 hour or as long as 30 days. Please note that all cars are subject to availability.

Rideshare rentals must be booked within 2 days of their start time. Once booked, Drivers can extend their rental as long as the vehicle has not been reserved by another Driver.
